Kamengo Culture Troupe (KCT) was founded through the Agnes Zabali Boys and Girls Club www.azbgc.ca as a creative platform for cultural expression, youth empowerment, fundraising, and community awareness.
Rooted in the rich cultural traditions of Uganda, KCT brings together talented musicians, dancers, storytellers, and young people, including alumni and graduates of AZBGC’s mentorship programs. Through traditional Ugandan music, dance, storytelling, and cultural performances, the troupe creates opportunities for young people to celebrate their identity, develop their talents, and share Uganda’s vibrant cultural heritage with audiences around the world.
KCT is a premier cultural performance troupe dedicated to showcasing the authentic and dynamic music, dance, and storytelling traditions of Uganda and East African. Our performers include seasoned traditional artists, master percussionists, emerging young talents, and cultural practitioners who bring generations of knowledge, skill, and experience to every performance.
By connecting centuries-old oral traditions with contemporary performance, Kamengo Culture Troupe creates meaningful cultural experiences that educate, inspire, and bring communities together while opening doors of opportunity for the next generation.

KCT and AZBGC are connected through a powerful cycle of community support and empowerment. Sometimes young people who benefit from mentorship, cultural education, and development opportunities can go on to become performers, mentors, cultural ambassadors, and advocates for the next generation.

Through performances, community events, and public platforms, KCT brings the stories, culture, resilience, and aspirations of Uganda’s youth to audiences around the world.
By sharing these stories, the troupe helps raise awareness of both the opportunities available to young people and the challenges facing children and youth in Uganda.
